The Lady Blows A Horn

- The Lady Blows A Horn -

Nancy Penn Smith Hannum

The Lady Blows A Horn is the colorful story of the legendary lady Master, Nancy Penn Smith Hannum. From the age of twelve, she was her stepfather Plunkett Stewart’s shadow. When Stewart died in 1948, she filled the role of Master for the Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds – and did so for almost sixty years. Durable of heart, her spirit prevails.

Nancy Hannum knew the hunt country was a treasure ready to preserve – or vanish. Many of the farms, woodlots and natural areas are now permanently preserved in a great way because of her tireless efforts. This revealing narrative, written by Nancy Mohr, deserves reading and re-reading – you will meet some of the Lady’s neighbors and friends in Delicious Memories, too.

- Praise for The Lady Blows A Horn -

"I thoroughly enjoyed The Lady Blows a Horn. I read the entire book by candlelight, cover to cover the day Hurricane Sandy hit. My husband had the fireplace going for heat, what a setting. I couldn't put the book down."
